Method

Simply follow our simply laid out recipe:

1) Place the ham, sausage, onion and water in a casserole dish over a high heat. Bring to the boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours.
2) Remove the meat, chop, and return to the soup.
3) Stir in potatoes, celery, carrots, tomatoes, tomato sauce and garlic.
4) Cover, and continue simmering until the vegetables are cooked.
5) Stir in cabbage and kidney beans and continue to cook for about 10 minutes, until the cabbage has softened.
