Vitamin B12 is mostly produced from meat or dairy products, leaving vegans without a way of getting this vital and complex vitamin.
But vegans need not despair, before rushing out and buying synthetic B12 supplements, which by the way are made from coal tar (a by-product of industrial processes) and is a copy of natural B12, there are a couple of vegan ingredients out there that do contain vitamin B12.
Seaweed and mushrooms both contain vitamin B12 with nori seaweed containing by far the most B12. Nori is now readily available as a snack in supermarkets such as Tesco’s, Asda and Waitrose.
So vegans ditch those supplements and grab some nori!
