What are the health benefits of Panch phoran/puren?

This Indian five spice mix has a small amount of nutrients, but add it for its great flavour!

If you can’t find panch phoran in your local shops, it's made of these spices: equal amounts of of each, fenugreek seed, nigella seed (black onion seed), cumin seed, black mustard seed and fennel seed.

Cooking tips

Panch phoran adds a great flavour to any sauce, stir fry or curry. Try adding it to chopped haloumi and fry, or toss in in a pan with steamed broccoli or green beans.
