What are the health benefits of Apples?

Apples are light on vitamins but are good for quercetin which may provide protection against cardiovascular disease and improve mental health. Quercetin may also protect our liver and kidneys and help with allergies such as asthma and hay fever. Apples also contain pectin, a soluble fibre that removes toxins from your gut. The saying "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" was first recorded in 1860s in Wales. The original saying was "Eat an apple on going to bed, and you'll keep the doctor from earning his bread."
