What are the health benefits of Kombu - dried - seaweed?

Comes dried similar to wakame and boasts an incredible amount of iodine, the very high amount compared to other seaweeds is due to the growing method being in deeper water. Handle with care as this may contain too much iodine for regular consumption - see below.

Cooking tips

Seaweeds like Kombu have huge amounts of iodine and regular consumption can lead to abnormal thyroid function. This has led to the establishment of an adult daily upper limit of 1,100 micrograms. This could easily be exceeded by eating a small amount of kombu seaweed.
